Ticehurst is a picturesque village located about 3.5 miles East of Wadhurst and about 10 miles South-East of Royal Tunbridge Wells, close to Bewl Water Reservoir. The village centre features an abundance of pretty period tile-hung and weather-boarded cottages.

It offers a lot of amenities including an award-winning pub in The Bell Inn, a village store with post office facilities, open seven days a week, a greengrocers, Buy the Weigh (zero waste shop and popular cafe), a chemist, hairdressers, florist, The Greedy Goat café, a dry cleaners, a charming gift shop, an art gallery, an India restaurant and take away, a lady’s clothes shop, a haberdashery and homeware shop, an interior designers and a family run car sales garage. On the outskirts are another two pubs, The Cherry Tree Inn and The Bull, the later of which is a popular stop for cyclists and walkers going around Bewl Water, which is easily accessible from the village. There is also St Mary’s Church, in the centre of the community, a doctors surgery, a busy village hall, recreation ground and a “good” primary school (2019 Ofsted).

Located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the surrounding countryside provides a wealth of walking opportunities and stunning scenery, including nearby Bewl Water Reservoir and Bedgebury Pinetum, which are popular attractions.

Nearby Hawkhurst (5 miles) has supermarkets, a small cinema and other amenities. Tunbridge Wells offers more comprehensive shopping and recreational facilities.

The nearest stations are at Stonegate (3.2 miles), Wadhurst (5 miles) and Etchingham (4 miles). These all serve London Charing Cross and Cannon Street (Stonegate to London Bridge in just under 1hr).

Dale Hill Golf Course and Hotel, a well known course designed by Ian Woodnam, lies on the outskirts of the village.

Ticehurst has its own primary school and there are further primary options in Wadhurst, Stonegate and Etchingham. Wadhurst has a secondary school and there are prep schools in Hawkhurst. Tunbridge Wells offers a wider selection of educational facilities including boys and girls grammar schools.
