Kent Legends Shine in King's New Year Honours

One name that stands out is the legendary Tom Baker, best known for his role as the fourth Doctor in the iconic BBC sci-fi series, Doctor Who. Although born in Liverpool, the 90-year-old actor has made various parts of Kent his home, including our very own Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone.

Tom's affection for Kent is well-documented. In an interview with Great British Life, he reminisced about his college days, expressing his love for the county's accessibility to both the coast and London. He fondly dubbed Kent as the "Garden of England" – a sentiment we wholeheartedly share here at Burnett's.

Another local hero gracing the Honours List is Rosie Marr from Tunbridge Wells, who has been awarded an OBE. Rosie, the Deputy Director at the Cabinet Office, has been recognised for her exemplary public service.

These honours serve as a reminder of the extraordinary individuals living among us in Kent. At Burnett's, we're proud to be part of such a vibrant and accomplished community. So, here's to the start of a new year, celebrating our local heroes and looking forward to the achievements to come in 2025.
